Stephen c. Frederico

Stephen is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh applying into neurosurgery and a former full voting member of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine admissions committee, where he reviewed and interviewed hundreds of applicants over multiple cycles. He has also worked at large national admissions consulting firms, giving him exposure to both institutional and commercial sides of the admissions process. He founded AdmitMD to provide applicants with honest, insider guidance and highly individualized strategy grounded in how admissions decisions are actually made.

Shwetabh TARUN

Dr. Tarun is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine with a clinical interest in internal medicine and a focus on health policy. Rachel rozelle

Rachel is an operations professional with over five years of experience in higher education administration and extensive experience in the admissions consulting space. She has a proven track record in scaling organizations by refining workflows, clarifying operational roles, and driving team performance. Rachel began her career at an education consulting startup now valued at over $1 billion, where she helped build the operational infrastructure behind its rapid growth, and is passionate about creating systems that increase efficiency and support team growth.

Rachel holds a bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia and an MSc in Business Management from Trinity College Dublin.

Aaron Sandoval

Dr. Sandoval is a dermatology resident at Johns Hopkins and a graduate of Harvard Medical School, where he previously served as a member of the admissions committee. A Marshall Scholar, he completed Master's degrees at the University of Cambridge and King's College London. His research focuses on wound healing, with an extensive publication record in this area. He has extensive experience in the biotech venture capital space. Aaron has helped numerous applicants secure prestigious international fellowships and gain acceptance to top medical schools in the United States.

Hector Gonzalez

Dr. Gonzalez is an Emergency Medicine resident and former member of the Stanford MD Admissions Advisory Panel, where he reviewed applications and contributed to holistic candidate evaluations. He earned his MD from Stanford and has a strong understanding of what distinguishes highly successful applicants. Raised in California’s Central Valley, Hector’s path to medicine includes working as a farmworker and later as a diabetes educator, shaping his commitment to mentoring students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds. He has helped numerous applicants gain acceptance to top U.S. medical schools through strategic advising and narrative development.

Nasir stovall

Nasir is an MD/MBA student at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School. A Fulbright Scholar, he taught English in rural Taiwan. As a Schwarzman Scholar, he went on to earn a master's degree in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University, sharpening a global lens on policy and leadership. Throughout medical school, Nasir has poured his energy into mentoring students, working to open doors to educational opportunities that aren't always equally accessible. He has personally guided numerous students through the medical school admissions journey, helping them craft standout applications that have earned them spots at top medical schools.

Jason Shen

Jason is a fourth-year MD candidate at the Stanford School of Medicine, where he also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Informatics Management and served on the admissions committee. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College, earning a degree in Neuroscience with a secondary in Philosophy while captaining the Division I Harvard Men’s Volleyball team. Andrew ahn

Dr. Ahn is an Interventional Radiology resident at Mass General Brigham/Harvard Medical School. A Boston native, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and began his career in strategy consulting before transitioning to medicine through the Johns Hopkins post-baccalaureate program. He received his MD from the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as a voting member of the admissions committee. Drawing on experience across consulting and academic medicine, Dr. Ahn provides applicants with insider insight and highly strategic guidance grounded in how admissions decisions are actually made.

Zachary sandoval

Dr. Sandoval is a current pediatrics resident at the University of California, San Francisco, and a member of the PLUS program, a competitive leadership track focused on health equity. He earned his MD from Baylor College of Medicine, where he also served as a student co-chair for the admissions committee. Prior to residency, Dr. Sandoval completed several competitive fellowships at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the U.S. House of Representatives. He aims to help students develop strong applications and identify medical programs that best fit their goals, drawing on his experience mentoring applicants and serving on admissions.

Arjun mittal

Dr. Mittal is an Internal Medicine resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School. He earned his BS from the University of Pittsburgh, spent a gap year in bioinformatics research at the NIH, then graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. There, he served as a full voting member of the admissions committee, interviewing hundreds of MD and BS/MD candidates, and advised medical school applicants extensively, work that led to a publication on the admissions process in Academic Medicine. Dr. Mittal is dedicated to helping the next generation of physicians gain admission to the medical school that best aligns with their goals and aspirations.

Aria is an MD/MBA candidate at UT Southwestern Medical School and a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where she studied neuroscience, psychology, and economics. She has extensive experience in mentorship, tutoring, and medical education, including helping students with MCAT preparation and navigating the medical school application process. Having pursued interests spanning clinical medicine, research, business, and medical education, Aria enjoys helping applicants identify the experiences that make their story distinctive and communicate them clearly throughout their application. Her approach is supportive and highly individualized.

Lohit Velagapudi

Dr. Velagapudi is a neurosurgery resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Originally from Southern California, he completed the Penn State/Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) 7-year BS/MD program with a concentration in Neuroscience. He served on the admissions committees for both the SKMC BS/MD program and the SKMC MD program for multiple admissions cycles, gaining extensive firsthand insight into the medical school admissions process. Dr. Velagapudi is passionate about developing individualized, goal-driven application strategies that optimize each client’s chances of success.

Hassaam Choudhry

Dr. Hassaam Choudhry attended Rutgers University as a member of the combined 7-year BA/MD program with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS). There, he received  the highly prestigious RBHS Rising Stars Award, granting an additional $20,000 annually during his residency at Rutgers NJMS, where he now trains as an Ophthalmology resident. During medical school he published over 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts including over 15 as a first author in some of the most well-renowned journals in medicine. His contributions to research earned him the Alpha Omega Alpha Weiss-Lambert Research Recognition Award.

William borges

Will is a second-year MD/PhD student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As a rising junior at Brown, he received MD admission into the FlexMed Early Assurance Program at Mount Sinai. He then deferred starting his MD to pursue an M.S. in Personalized Medicine and Applied Engineering at Yale. As an aspiring physician-scientist, Will is interested in applying synthetic biology and nano-medicine to develop next-generation therapies for various cancer types. Will has mentored many students applying to graduate and medical school programs, helping them gain acceptance into top early assurance MD and MD-PhD programs.

Manuel Torres Acosta

Dr. Torres Acosta is a practicing physician completing his residency in the Physician Scientist Pathway at the University of Pennsylvania's Internal Medicine residency program. A graduate of Northwestern's MD-PhD program, his thesis uncovered metabolic and epigenetic mechanisms by which immune cells respond to viral pneumonia. He later screened applicants for the program's admissions committee, co-founded Northwestern's MD-PhD diversity and inclusion committee, and authored a published review on how underrepresented identities shape trainee outcomes. His passion is mentoring underrepresented applicants and helping them present their experiences effectively.

Shayna MalletT

Shayna is an MD/PhD student in the Weill Cornell/Rockefeller/Sloan Kettering Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program. She graduated summa cum laude from Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University with a BS in Computer Science. An aspiring physician-scientist, she is interested in applying computational approaches to uncover the genomic basis of disease. Shayna has mentored numerous students throughout her career, helping many gain acceptance to top medical schools. She brings this same dedication to guiding applicants through their own journeys toward medicine. Shayna is an avid baker and runner and is currently training for the New York City Marathon.

Sammer Marzouk

Sammer Marzouk is an MD-PhD candidate in Northwestern University’s Medical Scientist Training Program. A graduate of Harvard College, his doctoral research focuses on developing biomedical technologies with applications to human health. His broader research spans dermatology, reconstructive surgery, and health equity, including published work examining racial disparities in dermatologic care. A prolific researcher with interests spanning medicine, technology, and health policy, Sammer is passionate about mentoring aspiring physician-scientists and helping applicants effectively communicate their research experiences, personal motivations, and fit for MD-PhD training.

Ankit Sharma

Ankit is an MD/PhD student in the Pitt-CMU Medical Scientist Training Program. His PhD thesis focused on adipose tissue plasticity and metabolic health in aging and obesity, supported by both an American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship and an NIH F30 Fellowship. Ankit has also served on the Pitt-CMU MSTP Admissions Committee, giving him firsthand experience evaluating applicants to one of the nation’s leading physician-scientist training programs. He is passionate about helping aspiring physician-scientists earn acceptance to the nation’s top MD/PhD programs.

Luzy Guañuna

Luzy is a graduate of Harvard College, where she studied Economics. She has more than four years of experience tutoring students for the SAT and ACT, helping students achieve top scores and gain admission to highly selective universities including Harvard University, Columbia University, Yale University, and Princeton University. She works closely with students to build the skills and confidence needed to achieve outstanding scores through a highly personalized, data-driven tutoring approach. Beyond tutoring, Luzy has experience in finance and consulting, including roles as a Private Equity Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs and as an Associate with the Harvard College Consulting Group. She has also worked with the Executive Education division of Harvard Business School.

Aaron tran

Aaron is a student at Stanford University pursuing a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Community Health. On campus, he serves as  an Ignite Fellow with Teach For America, where he has gained extensive teaching experience. He was also selected as a U.S. Presidential Scholar. Aaron scored in the 99th percentile on the MCAT and earned a perfect score on the ACT. He tutors students preparing for the MCAT as well as those completing rigorous pre-medical coursework. His teaching emphasizes building a deep understanding of core concepts rather than relying on memorization, enabling students to think like test makers and take exams with confidence. He is passionate about helping students reach their full potential through clear strategy, and preparation tailored to their goals.

zaid ashruf

Zaid is a second-year undergraduate at Columbia University, double-majoring in Biology and Economics on the pre-med track. Born and raised in Cleveland, he conducts cardiovascular research at Cleveland Clinic, studying fibromuscular dysplasia and stroke outcomes, and also serves as an EMT. 

Outside the lab, Zaid founded a branch of Salaam Clinic, a community-based free clinic, and has explored the biotech and healthcare investing space through campus venture work. As someone still early in his own pre-med journey, Zaid brings a close, current understanding of what the first couple years actually look like, and creates content that helps younger applicants build foundational knowledge about the pre-med process while introducing them to AdmitMD.

Alexandra bilder

Alexandra is a health policy research assistant at the RAND Corporation and a premedical post-baccalaureate student at UCLA Extension. She graduated summa cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University, where she studied neuroscience and human rights and completed two honors theses. At RAND, her research has focused on mental health, substance use, health care access, and delivery system reform.

While working, Alexandra has navigated the academic and logistical demands of a post-baccalaureate program, including intensive science coursework, course sequencing, and long-term application planning. As someone currently completing this process, she brings a close understanding of the challenges nontraditional and post-baccalaureate premedical students face.

Parth patel

Parth is a student in Penn State University's accelerated 7-year BS/MD program with Thomas Jefferson University's Sidney Kimmel Medical College. He conducts clinical research at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and Wills Eye Hospital, studying musculoskeletal injury patterns and ocular disease, respectively. Parth earned a perfect score on the ACT and was accepted to numerous top-20 universities and BS/MD programs. Having gone through the process himself just a few years ago, he brings a sharp, up-to-date understanding of what today's admissions landscape actually rewards, rather than outdated advice. He provides expert SAT tutoring and college admissions counseling, and has helped numerous students successfully navigate the college and BS/MD application process.
