Stephen c. Frederico

Stephen is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh applying into neurosurgery and a former full voting member of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine admissions committee, where he reviewed and interviewed hundreds of applicants over multiple cycles. He has also worked at large national admissions consulting firms, giving him exposure to both institutional and commercial sides of the admissions process. He founded AdmitMD to provide applicants with honest, insider guidance and highly individualized strategy grounded in how admissions decisions are actually made.

Aaron Sandoval

Aaron is a fourth-year medical student at Harvard Medical School applying to dermatology, and a former member of the Harvard Medical School admissions committee. A Marshall Scholar, he completed Master’s degrees at the University of Cambridge and King’s College London. His research focuses on wound healing, with an extensive publication record in this area. He has extensive experience in the biotech venture capital space. Aaron has helped numerous applicants secure prestigious international fellowships and gain acceptance to top medical schools in the United States.

Andrew ahn

Dr. Ahn is an Interventional Radiology resident at Mass General Brigham/Harvard Medical School. A Boston native, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and began his career in strategy consulting before transitioning to medicine through the Johns Hopkins post-baccalaureate program. He received his MD from the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as a voting member of the admissions committee. Drawing on experience across consulting and academic medicine, Dr. Ahn provides applicants with insider insight and highly strategic guidance grounded in how admissions decisions are actually made.

Lohit Velagapudi

Dr. Velagapudi is a neurosurgery resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Originally from Southern California, he completed the Penn State/Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) 7-year BS/MD program with a concentration in Neuroscience. He served on the admissions committees for both the SKMC BS/MD program and the SKMC MD program for multiple admissions cycles, gaining extensive firsthand insight into the medical school admissions process. Dr. Velagapudi is passionate about developing individualized, goal-driven application strategies that optimize each client’s chances of success.

Ankit Sharma

Ankit is an MD/PhD student in the Pitt-CMU Medical Scientist Training Program. His PhD thesis focused on adipose tissue plasticity and metabolic health in aging and obesity, supported by both an American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship and an NIH F30 Fellowship. Ankit has also served on the Pitt-CMU MSTP Admissions Committee, giving him firsthand experience evaluating applicants to one of the nation’s leading physician-scientist training programs. He is passionate about helping aspiring physician-scientists earn acceptance to the nation’s top MD/PhD programs.

Shwetabh TARUN

Shwetabh is a fourth-year medical student at Pitt with a clinical interest in the management of congenital heart diseases. Throughout medical school, he has served as an interviewer for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine admissions committee. As AdmitMD’s Post-Baccalaureate & Special Master’s Program (SMP) Admissions Strategist, he is an expert at helping applicants strengthen their academic profiles through post-baccalaureate and SMP programs. He has successfully guided numerous clients to admission at highly competitive programs and advises students on leveraging linkage pathways and addressing application deficiencies during gap years to strengthen their candidacy for U.S. medical schools.

Erik Jaklitsch

Dr. Jaklitsch is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and a practicing dermatology resident at Yale New Haven, with a clinical interest in Mohs surgery. He has an extensive research background with multiple publications focused on novel methods for melanoma detection, and immune-based therapies. Dr. Jaklitsch also brings significant admissions consulting experience, having advised numerous medical school applicants as a professional consultant with Crimson Education, as well as medical students applying to dermatology residencies and other competitive medical specialties. 

Luzy Guañuna

Luzy is a graduate of Harvard College, where she studied Economics. She has more than four years of experience tutoring students for the SAT and ACT, helping students achieve top scores and gain admission to highly selective universities including Harvard University, Columbia University, Yale University, and Princeton University. She works closely with students to build the skills and confidence needed to achieve outstanding scores through a highly personalized, data-driven tutoring approach. Beyond tutoring, Luzy has experience in finance and consulting, including roles as a Private Equity Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs and as an Associate with the Harvard College Consulting Group. She has also worked with the Executive Education division of Harvard Business School.

Aaron tran

Aaron is a student at Stanford University pursuing a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Community Health. On campus, he serves as  an Ignite Fellow with Teach For America, where he has gained extensive teaching experience. He was also selected as a U.S. Presidential Scholar. Aaron scored in the 99th percentile on the MCAT and earned a perfect score on the ACT. He tutors students preparing for the MCAT as well as those completing rigorous pre-medical coursework. His teaching emphasizes building a deep understanding of core concepts rather than relying on memorization, enabling students to think like test makers and take exams with confidence. He is passionate about helping students reach their full potential through clear strategy, and preparation tailored to their goals.
