Stephen is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh applying into neurosurgery and a former full voting member of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine admissions committee, where he reviewed and interviewed hundreds of applicants over multiple cycles. He has also worked at large national admissions consulting firms, giving him exposure to both institutional and commercial sides of the admissions process. Shwetabh is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh with a clinical interest in internal medicine and a focus on health policy. He has served as an interviewer on the admissions committee, gaining direct experience evaluating applicants and contributing to the selection process. Aaron is a fourth-year medical student at Harvard Medical School applying to dermatology, and a former member of the Harvard Medical School admissions committee. A Marshall Scholar, he completed Master’s degrees at the University of Cambridge and King’s College London. His research focuses on wound healing, with an extensive publication record in this area. Hector Gonzalez
Dr. Gonzalez is an Emergency Medicine resident and former member of the Stanford MD Admissions Advisory Panel, where he reviewed applications and contributed to holistic candidate evaluations. He earned his MD from Stanford and has a strong understanding of what distinguishes highly successful applicants. Zachary sandoval
Dr. Sandoval is a current pediatrics resident at the University of California, San Francisco, and a member of the PLUS program, a competitive leadership track focused on health equity. He earned his MD from Baylor College of Medicine, where he also served as a student co-chair for the admissions committee. Prior to residency, Dr. Sandoval completed several competitive fellowships at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the U.S. House of Representatives. He aims to help students develop strong applications and identify medical programs that best fit their goals, drawing on his experience mentoring applicants and serving on admissions.

Dr. Ahn is an Interventional Radiology resident at Mass General Brigham/Harvard Medical School. A Boston native, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and began his career in strategy consulting before transitioning to medicine through the Johns Hopkins post-baccalaureate program. He received his MD from the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as a voting member of the admissions committee. Lohit Velagapudi
Dr. Velagapudi is a neurosurgery resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Originally from Southern California, he completed the Penn State/Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) 7-year BS/MD program with a concentration in Neuroscience. He served on the admissions committees for both the SKMC BS/MD program and the SKMC MD program for multiple admissions cycles, gaining extensive firsthand insight into the medical school admissions process. Ankit Sharma
Ankit is an MD/PhD student in the Pitt-CMU Medical Scientist Training Program. His PhD thesis focused on adipose tissue plasticity and metabolic health in aging and obesity, supported by both an American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship and an NIH F30 Fellowship. Ankit has also served on the Pitt-CMU MSTP Admissions Committee, giving him firsthand experience evaluating applicants to one of the nation’s leading physician-scientist training programs. Luzy is a graduate of Harvard College, where she studied Economics.
